Posters

For the printing of posters we work with three different types of printing.
We use full colour digital print, litho printing and screen-printing.
We use one of these methods of printing depending on the quantity of the order.
Posters get printed digital if the quantity is 30 or less on an A1 (841 x 594mm) size and 40or less on an A2 size. The costs of A1 posters are R125 for one (excluding vat). If the quantity exceeds 30 posters, we use litho printing. The point where litho printing and digital printing break even on 200-gram paper: +/- 30 on an A1 size and +/-40 on an A2.
The amount of colours to be printed is a very big aspect in litho printing. The more colours are printed, the higher the price will go. This is not the case with digital printing – no matter how many colours in your print, the price remains the same.

One of the big advantages of digital printed posters is that the turnaround time is a lot quicker than litho printing. In the case of litho printing and screen-printing, you have to prepare litho plates, silk screens and positives whereas the digital printing will be printed directly from the computer.

If a request is made for poster to be applied on a thick board, we recommend the 3mm thick PVC corri boards. In this case we then recommend screen-printing.
Corri boards are very popular and practical and the prices are low, but there are lots of alternatives, like ABS plastic, komatex and even 10mm chipboard with a smooth melamine surface.
